DRY & WET SURFACER

FOR DRY GRINDING:

Dry belt Surfacer is a continuous belt sander. It is used for removing sharp edges and for rough polishing of mounted/unmounted specimen. The Dry Belt Surfacer consists of a continuous belt of size 36″ X 4″ width (915 mm X 100 mm). The Belt runs on aluminium pulleys one of which is directly coupled to 1/4 H.P.,T.E.F.C. 220 Volts AC, single phase motor. The other pulley is fitted on a spindle in dolly which is spring loaded thus offering quick changing of worn out belts and keeping a fixed tension. The design also incorporates axial adjustment to align the belt in the centre. The belt runs over a plate situated between the two pulleys giving a working surface of approximately 4″ X 7″ area. It is totally enclosed for safety. The cover can be easily removed for changing the belt. Approximate dimensions of the base are 23″ X 20″ X 13″ height.


FOR DRY & WET SURFACE:

Similar to above but having arrangement for both wet and dry grinding it is supplied with coolant tank located in the base, a coolant pump with switch and pilot light, brush type coolant dispenser, water and drain connections. The switch enables dry polishing when put off. This is driven by a 1/4 H.P.,T.E.F.C. 220 Volts AC, single phase motor. The machine can use a large volume of water to keep the sample cool and avoid heat effects. A ‘S’ type water dispenser is used which remains parallel to the belt. The Machine is mounted on a self contained angle iron table.


ELECTROLYTIC POLISHER CUM ETCHER

Electrolytic Polishing is an electrochemical process for preparation of Metallogrpahic samples. It is a reverse process of electroplating, wherein the material from the samples is removed away by electrolytic action in presence of D.C. Potential. Electrolytic Polishing renders distortion free finely polished samples in seconds. In terms of quality, speed and ease of operations, electrolytic polishing exceeds mechanical polishing methods.

Necessary and optional Accessories
POWER SUPPLY UNIT. A 150 volts, 2.5 amps. DC supply source operating on 230 volts 50 cycles single phase AC mains. DC voltage varies with the help of a dimmerstat voltmeters with ranges 0-15 V and 0-150 V. Ammeters with ranges 0-250 MA and 0-2.5 A.DC. Three station selects for polishing, etching or external etching. An electronic timer 0-100 seconds for etching and 0 to 220 seconds for polishing. For timings beyond this range manually controlled polishing facility is provided. Polishing Table supply point include AC voltage for electrolyte pump having variable speed and DC source for polishing etching. Additional point for external etching is also provided. Supplied in sturdy cabinet with all the controls located in front.

Polishing Table
Comprising of the electrolyte container, recirculating pump unit drive, polishing cell with stainless steel cathode. Fitted in a sturdy aluminium housing. Spring loaded specimen contractor and three masks of 10 sq.mm.,30 sq. mm and 75 sq.mm. approx.
A magnetic stirrer is also supplied to ensure homogeneous electrolyte.

Accessories

  1. Two glass containers: One Beaker 2000 cc. For use of polishing table and the other a petridish for use in external etching.
  2. DC supply cord for use with polishing table and with external etching.
  3. Supply cord for Electrolyte pump.
  4. Vice is provided on the job platform for holding the jobs. The platform position is adjustable to accommodate job of odd shapes.
  5. Extra copper cathode for polishing cell.




IMAGE ANALYSER

The Image Analysis system comprising of the followings:

  1. Two glass containers: One Beaker 2000 cc. For use of polishing table and the other a petridish for use in external etching.
  2. DC supply cord for use with polishing table and with external etching.
  3. Supply cord for Electrolyte pump.
  4. Extra copper cathode for polishing cell.
