RESEARCH POLARIMETER

CONSTRUCTION:

Entire optical train is mounted on a rigid east aluminium support of elegant design and the sodium lamp on its spherical housing forms is an integral part of the instruments and is operated on Sodium Lamp of 35 watts 220 Volt AC. through chock.

WORKING INSTRUCTION:

The switch is to be plugged through chock, Start the working when sodium bulb become yellow. The left hand Micrometer drum knob has 0 to 20 divisions. First set the knob to 0. Then rotate the right hand knob & set 0 to single line inside the scale eyepiece. Then check the Moon shade by focussing the scale. Both the shade shall become equal. Fill the juice to pole tube and put it In polarimeter and close the cover. Then focus the moon shade difference from moon eyepiece. Rotate the right hand knob till the shade become equal. When they become equal check the reading.
