Solid rectangular or circular fixtures for MCR

Solid rectangular or circular fixtures for MCR:

SRF/SCF

In addition to rheology, MCR rheometers can also be used for Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA) of solids in torsion. The temperature and mechanical behavior of solids is investigated with a variety of available fixtures such as solid rectangular or circular fixtures (SRF, SCF). The oscillatory signal is measured by the EC drive while the lift drive of the rheometer is used to set a pretension and compensate the thermal expansion. This guarantees a precise determination of the shear moduli G’ and G’’ as well as the loss or damping factor tan(δ), especially in critical regions between glass transition temperature and melting point.

Key features :

Solid rectangular or circular fixtures for a configuration with one EC drive (SRF and SCF)

These fixtures feature a specially designed sample clamping system which ensures that samples of different thicknesses can be measured exactly aligned with the axis of the measuring system. The combination with a touch-control feature, used to position fixtures and sample, guarantees convenient sample handling.

Solid rectangular or circular fixtures for a configuration with two EC drives (SRF/TD and SCF/TD)

With the SRF/TD for MCR 702 MultiDrive, DMA measurements using both EC drives are possible. This means that measurements in separate motor transducer mode and in counter-oscillation mode can be performed. As both options – measurements on solid bars with one EC drive or two EC drives – are available with MCR 702 MultiDrive, the best possible option for each sample can be chosen.

Convection temperature device for controlling the greatest influence of all

In combination with convection temperature devices such as CTD 180 HR or CTD 450 TDR and CTD 600 MDR the systems ensure the characterization of materials from the glassy to the molten state. The large temperature range of the convection temperature devices makes it possible to determine the materials’ transition temperatures and relaxations. Furthermore, a controlled relative humidity can also be applied to the sample in combination with temperature.
